I was planning to get a portable refrigerator to increase my cold storage. Isn’t that a better solution?
A little more refrigerator space will surely be welcome, but the 40-quart Engel used by most boaters and RVers is only 1.33 cubic feet of additional space. Contrast this to the typical land-based home refrigerator of 18 to 20 cubic feet, add in that you’re going to go longer between grocery trips, and you can see how additional techniques are needed.
